Less than three months ago I came to Remy for an intake. At that moment I had no energy for anything, I was way over my weight at 87 kg, I was in no physical condition, I slept poorly, I woke up feeling lethargic and went to bed tired and feeling lethargic again. In other words, not a really good combination for a healthy life.
I have always exercised a lot, but due to a nasty accident, operations and a long rehabilitation, I somehow stopped doing it. It was now really necessary for me to do something about this and I started a six-month process with PT at Remy.
In my plan I have agreed with myself a number of goals where I want to be after 6 months:
• Target weight of 70 kg and the excess belly fat must be gone
• See sports as part of daily activities
• My cycling fitness must be back up to standard, so that I can effortlessly cycle in the Austrian Alps with the MTB in September without having to constantly get off.
• Sleep better
• Looking forward to the day in the morning
• Look back positively at the end of the day
• No more worrying
The most important part is that I have significantly adjusted my diet. And I actually really like that. Healthy and conscious eating can indeed be tasty and does not have to take more time. I'm done and the pounds are flying off.
The week is filled with an intensive and fun sports program. I really like it and I can make time for it. The challenge is still to find a balance here and also to give myself the rest that is needed.
Group lessons three times a week are a great way to divide the week for me, plus an hour of PT with Remy.
To improve my cycling fitness, Jeroen Blijlevens has drawn up a schedule that I cycle early in the morning at least 2-3 times a week. And what a difference. I used to cycle like crazy, literally kick myself to pieces and think that was part of exercising. Now I cycle in a heart rate zone where I feel comfortable and alternate with some sprints in between. Now to grow some more sitting meat and adjust my training schedules to a concrete goal.
I gradually came into contact with boxing and train with great enthusiasm twice a week with Rick de Nooijer. A really wonderful variation of technique and cardio that I practice at home with a punching bag.
And the result after 3 months? I was amazed by it myself. My weight has been reduced by almost 15 kg, my belly fat has also shrunk considerably, my energy level is back to normal thanks to exercise, I sleep much better, my appetite is more consistent, snacking is a thing of the past and I'm looking forward to the day again in the morning. . It is simply a chain reaction that affects all facets. Even my blood pressure and resting heart rate during the night hours have dropped significantly.
This is why I continue with this pattern of life. There are still some points that need to be refined, so that it can also be maintained in terms of sports. What I have learned in particular is to think in possibilities and not in impossibilities when things go wrong.
I know that I have achieved it all myself, but I am at the point where I am now thanks to Remy's support and encouragement.
