Monday Master Blog: Completely out of balance

I recently spoke to a customer who really wants to make a greater impact on his personal health and vitality and also on his partner and children. This customer has a successful business but is also 10 kg overweight and in the evening he collapses tired on the couch at 8 p.m. while his partner and children need genuine attention. Completely out of balance and this customer is partly aware of this through our conversation. However, the purpose behind his goal is to also make an impact on his child from a previous relationship, setting a good example as a role model. That's a no brainer... in other words, it's obvious to work together for at least 6 months!

However, people also often say that they would do anything to lose weight, to be more vital, to feel more energetic, to live a healthier life and so on. But ultimately, few people are really willing to do what is necessary and really go for it.

Many people drop out when it gets difficult, when it gets exciting, when it gets uncomfortable. “No, yes, I really want it and I would do a lot for it, but I'm really not going to do that, I don't like that, I really don't have time for that.”

These people prefer to drink meal shakes every day or do a trendy juice cleanse as a replacement for a healthy and cheaper meal, go to a heavily air-conditioned suit in a heavily air-conditioned room to sit on equipment in the same suit while they have already been sitting on an office chair for 8 hours or pull a kind of wetsuit to be electrified. All unsustainable actions with temporary results.

In the beginning everyone is motivated, because getting to know yourself is generally fun and interesting. At some point we come to a point where it comes down to moving on. And at that moment you can see if someone is really willing to do what is necessary. I always coach and mirror my clients from the start with who they are, how they stand on the playing field and what they do. But... I can tell you and offer you all kinds of things, but if you are not prepared to do what is necessary, no sustainable change will take place. Brutally honest, but this is how it works.

Because when it comes to action, many people turn off, procrastinate and come to a standstill. I see that happen so often. Every week I speak to people who have been in a situation for years that they no longer want to be in, a situation that makes them unhappy, that is bad for their health/vitality and so on. And yet they are not willing to do what is necessary, because it may be exciting, uncomfortable, difficult, etc.

Such a shame! Because if you are willing to feel uncomfortable, to make exciting choices, to break through certain fears and pains, you will achieve results and growth and change will occur. And that is ultimately what we want. At least that is what I like to see with my customers and that is what I also wish for my customers. Are you willing to do whatever it takes to get to where you really want to be or is everything you say just a lie?
