Do you recognize that? We set goals and work hard on them with our trainer, but then normal life comes and unexpected events throw a spanner in the works. This can happen with all types of goals. I experience this myself during my rehabilitation for my knee.
You probably know those moments of highs and lows. Sometimes those challenges seem even harder than the steps towards your goal itself. Dealing with disappointments, such as when things don't work out or you get pain again despite doing the same thing as before, can be difficult. This often has to do with tax and taxability.
By load we mean everything that puts strain on your body, both physically and mentally. Consider your training, the weights you use, but also your sleep, energy level and workload. For example, I moved in the middle of my rehabilitation. It was great that we bought a house, but moving involves a lot of carrying, renovating and painting. This places an extra burden on your body and reduces your resilience, meaning you can handle less than before. It is sometimes difficult to assess this properly and it may mean that you have to take a step back. This is of course annoying, but often better for your ultimate goal.
The mental battle that comes with this cannot be underestimated. Talk about this with your family, friends or coach. Your personal trainer can really help you with this. Then the focus is not on the physical goal, but on the mental aspect, which will help you come out stronger. This way you get to know yourself better, which will benefit you a lot in your life as a person in the long term.
