How can you deal healthily with parties on the weekend?
No, this blog is not about what you can and cannot eat on the weekend. I am also Burgundian and love to drink a glass of wine. This topic is also about balance and making choices.
My slogan here is always; 'If you take it into account beforehand, you won't regret it afterwards'.
I used to regularly hear from customers on Thursdays or Fridays; 'oh well this weekend it won't be anything anyway'.
I always ask what exactly do you mean by 'nothing'.
Well, Friday evening I met friends in the pub again for a long time; We have a wedding on Saturday and on Sunday we go to dinner with friends and they always have very good wine.
So the weekend hasn't started yet and you're throwing in the towel in advance? This way I would immediately focus the conversation.
My next question might be; 'how would you feel on Monday after such a weekend'?
'Bummer and the feeling that I won't be able to lose weight after all.'
Let's see together how we can prevent this feeling, without having to deprive yourself of much.
'Which of the three times would you most like to drink alcohol?'
'Definitely the first'. Oh yes, and I can drive to the wedding, because I don't know many people there anyway, so I don't drink.
Often the customers come up with almost the entire solution themselves and you only have to coach them at the third moment.
'What does the third moment look like?
'His wife is a very good cook and always makes 4 courses and he is a real wine connoisseur; you just don't want to miss those wines'.
To gain even more insight into the situation I could ask;
'What type of wine do you personally prefer?'
'I like red and white but I'm not that crazy about dessert wine.'
"Could you leave the last of the dessert wine?"
"Yes, then I'll just have a coffee with the last course."
'And could you commit yourself to opting for a bob glass of wine with the first 3 courses?'. Then you can taste the good wines without drinking too much.
'Absolute'.
How would you feel after this weekend with these choices made?
'Yes, really happy; because secretly I look forward to it even though the weekend itself is a lot of fun.
Good luck!
