Monday Master Blog: The Fastest Way to Lose Belly Fat

90% of the people I train ask me to focus on their stomach.
Almost everyone wants a nice flat stomach, with some visible abdominal muscles if possible.

Would you also like to get rid of that excess belly fat?
Then here are a few points you may not like to hear:

• A visible six-pack is only possible with a very low fat percentage. For men, approximately 10% fat or less and for women 14% or less.
• You can mainly achieve this low fat percentage by adjusting your diet.
• It is a myth that doing a lot of abdominal exercises will help you lose fat on your stomach.

Not you, but your body, determines where you burn fat.
With abdominal exercises you will strengthen your abdominal muscles (and there are better options for that), but the fat layer will not disappear locally.

What should you do then?
The secret to burning belly fat (fast) is in a negative energy balance and consistency.
If there is a miracle cure, power drink or magical solution. Believe me, you already knew it. Could something else really work? Then everyone did.

To lose fat in that annoying abdominal region, you will have to lose fat all over your body. And if you are unlucky, it is your belly fat that will stick around the longest (because that fat also protects your organs, for example).

Does it make no sense at all?
Of course!
Fat in the abdominal region is often accompanied by visceral fat. The fat around your organs may protect you from external impacts. But do you have too much visceral fat? Then it can become a problem.
The visceral fat affects your hormones and increases the risk of type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, certain types of cancer, etc.

Do you have too much visceral fat? Then it is certainly interesting to get rid of that excess belly fat.

But how do you get rid of that belly fat?
• Eat healthy.
• Make sure you eat less than you burn.
• Do strength sports (and no, not just for the stomach).
• Combine this with cardio.
• Be consistent.
• Have patience.
