Monday Master Blog: How vital am I?

Every day we read or hear the terms lifestyle and vitality. These terms are constantly used interchangeably. But what do they mean now?

Can you achieve a vitality goal with a lifestyle approach... The answer is NO.

Lifestyle represents the way you live your life. This includes things like eating and sleeping patterns, exercise and things like smoking and drinking alcohol. This all plays an important role in losing weight and building muscle mass. With a lifestyle approach you focus on changing lifestyle patterns to become healthier and keep your life in balance. It says nothing about your energy and (will) strength, how you approach life mentally and physically. For example, to work on your (sports) goals you need energy and willpower. If you don't have enough of this, you will probably not achieve your goals.

Before you start working on your lifestyle goal, it is important to ask yourself: 'how vital am I?'.

Vitality is about the energy and strength with which you approach life emotionally and mentally. Who are you? What really makes you happy? What gives you energy?

The answers to these types of big questions are very important to give direction to your life, to make choices and realize goals that are in line with your norms and values, and are important for your happiness and health.

A vital person has clear willpower, energy, physical strength and resilience.

In short, if this is not in order, it will be almost impossible to actually lose those kilos (permanently) or achieve your sports goals. At the first setback, you lack the energy and strength to deal with this setback and you let go of your goal. You have the feeling of always moving in circles and always ending up in the same situation.
