Monday Master Blog: Longing for FAT or a FAT desire?

For a long time I had been thinking about opening my own 'gym' again, just like I started with my own space more than 20 years ago. However, this time I wanted it to be different...I had a space of 600 m2 and later a large center of over 3500 m2 with all the amenities that came with it.

I noticed that my thoughts were always there and disappeared again because I was not actively and consciously working on them. Various sports centers have been offered to me for takeover, including my old center in West Brabant. But I was now convinced that this was not my VET desire.

After speaking with Eric and Peter from Enforce, I knew almost immediately that a small-scale setup with a high level of guidance & coaching was the right thing for me to do and that I had to stop thinking and start doing. Why? Because I am worth it and this is my BOLD desire.

I will give you 5 tips to choose your VET desire:

Tip 1: Make the best choice yourself.

If you have doubts, you usually look for more information. This way you end up with friends and family or read the experiences of others on the internet. The problem with this is that you make your decision dependent on others. What does that have to do with you? Who decides what is sensible, who decides what the best choice is, who decides what the first step should be? Right, that's up to you! You already know what the best choice is!

Doubt is caused by looking outside yourself for the best choice. Deep down you already know what the best choice is. That is the choice that gives you the best feeling – the choice that belongs to you. The choice that makes you think: “This is what I want most!”
Doubt comes from outside, certainty and self-confidence comes from within.
You know what you want. You know what's best. You know what feels good. You may have temporarily forgotten, but you know!

Tip 2: Assume success.

Doubt is caused by thinking that what you choose may fail. Turn it around: the best choice is what you would choose if you knew you couldn't fail. That's the choice you really want deep down. That is one of the keys to success.
Why do you assume failure? Why do so many people assume failure? Because then they will be less disappointed if it does indeed fail. What a philosophy! Do you also assume that your plane will crash when you book a holiday? Oh no! You assume that you will achieve your goals and live to your full potential. Consider this for all your other goals as well.
Assume success and it could just happen to you.

Tip 3: Let go of the need for a guarantee.

Doubt arises because we have difficulty with uncertainty. We would like to be assured that everything will be fine. Do you know anyone on this planet who has this guarantee? Not me in any case.
How come so many people still take action? Because they think: “If I have to wait for a warranty, I will still be waiting in twenty years.” Are you still waiting for something? Are you waiting until after Corona? Because then……..? Stop telling yourself that bullshit!
The only guarantee there is: if you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always gotten. If you don't like it, stop whining and change what you're doing. And know that you will also get a different outcome. Guaranteed because action = results!
The more self-confidence, the less doubt. Let go of guarantees and look for trust. With confidence you no longer need a guarantee.

Tip 4: Don't make 'coffee' with your thoughts.

Doubt, stress and worries are in your head. You cannot make 'coffee' with your thoughts. You can't do anything with your thoughts until your hands do it. Taking action is the only way to get results. You don't know yet what the outcome will be. But at least something is happening. Do you have any idea how many hours, days, weeks, sometimes years you spend thinking about situations but not taking action? What would happen if you actually did something during all those moments? The difference would be fantastic!

The best way to not get what you want is to never start.
Imagine if I spent two weeks thinking about starting to exercise and you immediately started exercising. Then after two weeks you have taken about 140,000 steps and I haven't taken one.
As you now know, there is no guarantee of success. I do know one thing: the best way to not get what you want is to never start. The best way to get what you want is to do something. Think less and do more. Then you will get fewer headaches and more results.

Tip 5: Don't be afraid of success.

Most people hold themselves back from success. Why? Because they think they don't deserve it, can't or don't dare. Because at least they know that they were right to doubt all these years. Because imagine if you were suddenly successful... then all those years of doubt would have been a waste!

Don't be afraid of the good.
Why would you? The good belongs to you. You wrongly assume that you will have to miss out on what you really want. That is not true. You don't have to miss it. You can get it. You will achieve your goal if you leave the doubt behind you and take the steps necessary. Sometimes not fun and not comfortable, but I promise you... so beautiful and you are worth it!

A little doubt is okay. But don't let it paralyze you. Get moving and take the first step! Stop thinking and start doing, you will be amazed by the results! Enforce's master trainers are happy to help you if you dare to invest in yourself!
