Monday Master Blog: We live in strange times

We live in strange times. But is that true?

You can now do 2 things. Appear on the playing field as a Winner or as a Loser.

The old 'joke' about those two salesmen in the desert illustrates the difference between winner and loser thinking:

Two salespeople travel to a desert area to investigate whether there are sales opportunities for selling footwear.

The first comes back and reports that there is no chance of sales, because 'nobody wears shoes there'.

The second reports: 'What possibilities! No one has shoes there anymore!'

How does a loser think?
There are no chances and possibilities, this is force majeure and I cannot do anything about it, nothing will happen, I will try, I will never succeed. How do I get time? You don't understand me, We always do it this way, it makes no sense anymore, it's their problem, I don't know how.

What is the behavior of a loser?
Is always too busy when you ask how things are going, procrastinates and avoids things that he/she finds difficult, makes promises but does not keep them.
Defends himself against others and does not look at himself, is afraid of making mistakes, thinks in terms of problems and not solutions, does not take responsibility and is mainly in a victim role. Be guided by the environment, what others think of you and what is happening in the world, such as now with the Corona virus.

A loser will therefore get stuck in the patterns he/she is currently stuck in, and is actually not completely satisfied. He does have a dream, but that's it, because that's the way it is.

I too have had setbacks throughout my life. I had to deal with a lot of powerlessness and often felt like a victim of the situation. A loser.
I also liked it the way it was for a very long time. I had a job, was married, my family was doing well, I had a roof over my head. What more did I want?

How does a winner think?
Plenty of opportunities, I'm going to do it, I can do it, force majeure gives me the opportunity to try other things, I make time for it, we have different opinions, there has to be a better way, this time it works, it's my problem, let's be more flexible, I'll find out and come back with the answer.

What is the behavior of a winner?
Works harder, but has more time, tackles a problem, assumes obligations, learns from others, explains, declares, makes commitments, has integrity, and does what he/she has to do,
not afraid of mistakes, thinks in opportunities and solutions, sets priorities, and says no.

A winner will break the patterns he/she is currently living and choose not to dream his/her dream, but to live it. A winner is happier, more confident and full of life force.

People who are successful have a winning mentality. Entrepreneurs who are successful, or employees who are promoted. The opinions of others hardly matter, the successful person believes in himself. The successful person is not guided or held back by circumstances. But sees opportunities and/or creates opportunities.

This successful person provides criticism and well-intentioned advice such as 'should you do that?' down next to him. You shouldn't expect much, especially from people who comment in advance. The following statement is striking:

As you grow older, you'll find the only things you regret,
are the things you didn't do.

2 years ago I decided to be a winner. I have always wanted to have my own Personal Training business. 2 years ago I got the opportunity at Enforce. It was scary, uncertain, I didn't know what I was getting into. It was trial and error. And now there is trial and error again. But I learned so much about myself during that time, about what it is like to be an entrepreneur. I see opportunities in times when I would otherwise have curled up on the couch. I undertake. I live. Delicious. Now I have different dreams. New dreams that I'm going to live. That will bring new challenges. Wonderfully I'm Alive!

You become the person you think you are. If you see yourself as mediocre, with mediocre qualities and a mediocre salary, then there is a good chance that you will be right. If you allow yourself to be guided by circumstances, things that have been taught to you, things that you have experienced, and you keep repeating the same pattern every time, you will not get any further and you will always continue to think and behave like a loser and you will not be a loser either. get results. You will not grow as a person and your full potential will remain behind.

But if you see yourself as a winner who is convinced of his/her qualities and who also accepts that mistakes can be made, then there is a good chance that you will feel like a winner and that you will behave as such. There is a good chance that you will be a winner too! Only by choosing to adopt a winning mentality will you live your full potential. Will you be able to achieve what you really want to achieve deep down? Making what you always dream about feasible. Will you progress, become stronger, become better, be successful.

We live in a period where there are opportunities and possibilities. Provide movement in your growth.
Go do the things you need to do. To get where you want to be. Things you thought you could never do. Now is the time!

Winner or Loser? The choice is yours!
