Monday Master Blog: Wind with or against

In recent weeks we have had many days with strong winds and storms.

This week I ran with a group, where we had to deal with heavy headwind for half the lap. During this headwind I saw several people having a much harder time than normal. They noticed that they were out of breath, had stitches and cramps in their abdominal muscles. They simply had a hard time, but found it enjoyable. The only thing I said then was the following: now you immediately know where the areas for improvement are. For example, people often forget to do strength training as a runner.

Ask yourself: Do you develop more with the wind or against the wind?

Because would you have discovered your development points if you had always had the wind at your back?
I am convinced that if you switch gears in the face of adversity and improve or change the things that are bothering you at that moment, you can make much more of your life.
The decision about what you will do in the face of adversity determines whether you develop or whether you remain stuck in the existing.

You can translate this to all kinds of things in your life.
Sports performance,
Relationships,
To undertake,
Health,
Etc.

Of course it is (equally) intense if there is a situation in your life where you experience headwinds. But do you decide to take this experience with you and develop based on it? Or do you choose to comment on this, feel sorry for yourself and not adapt to it? If you choose the latter, you will always experience headwind as negative and difficult and this will be difficult forever.

Get out of that comfortable circle of habits and dare to take the step to develop yourself.
Do what is necessary and brave the headwind. It is completely your decision what happens in your life.
