Monday Master Blog: Are you the chaotic or the planner?

During our processes we discuss pitfalls, possible future problems and challenges. Structure is discussed regularly. these people live from day to day and create a pattern that is not workable to achieve their commitment. They experience sleeping problems, difficulty meeting their nutritional needs and are often tired from work and sports. What can structure do for you?

What can structure do for you?
A good structure in your life helps you to become mentally and physically stronger, but also works well for your performance. It is therefore not without reason that a lot of effort is made to provide structure in the treatment of depression, sadness or anxiety complaints. Even with minor complaints, or preferably even when you feel completely great, a structure helps you get more out of yourself and reduces the risk of stress.

Why does structuring help?
By creating a daily structure or rhythm, you subconsciously create an overview, which can help you avoid falling into a negative spiral. Structure in your life also helps to guard your own boundaries and to ensure that you sometimes take time for yourself. And structure ensures that we determine when and how much attention something receives. So we keep control ourselves.

What can you do to get more structure in your life:
There are different ways to add structure to your life. Applying a structure can be very helpful, but it also takes time to fully integrate into your daily system. So give yourself time if something doesn't work out easily, but keep trying. A few tips:

Choose a good time to wake up and a time to go to sleep. Try to stick to this as much as possible, even on weekends.
By creating regularity, your sleep will be more effective and you will therefore have more energy for the day. This may be difficult at first, but persistence wins!

Try to eat regularly, both in terms of the times you eat, but also the quantities you eat. By making your diet regular, you will have more energy and you will also feel healthier.

Create a daily or weekly schedule. We are often tempted to plan too many things in one day, causing the tasks to keep piling up. It helps to make a simple schedule with blocks of 2 hours and determine them in advance. When are you at work, when are you free, when do you have time to get your daily exercise, when do you see your friends and when do you do nothing at all?

Create a structure where you are successful!
